Environment Institute for Central America and the Caribbean

The Study of the United States Institute (SUSI) on the Environment for Central America and the Caribbean will provide a group approximately 20 undergraduate students from Central America and the Caribbean with a multi-disciplinary program focusing on the role of water in the environmental sciences, public health, engineering, policy, and governance. The institute will address broad issues related to watershed management, water supply and treatment, and coastal development. The overall goal of the program is to advance the participants’ understanding of the relationship between economic development and natural resource management.

The SUSI on the Environment for Central America and the Caribbean is hosted by Oregon State University and will take place in the summer of 2009.
