The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the United States Government.  The goal of the Fulbright program is to increase mutual understanding and promote leadership development through learning and international cooperation.  Since 1946, the Fulbright Program has provided over 300,000 participants with the opportunity to study, teach and conduct research in the United States and more than 155 countries. Approximately 8,000 grants are awarded annually to students, teachers, scholars, artists, scientists, professionals and host institutions.

Students:  The Fulbright Student Program offers fellowships for graduating college seniors, graduate students, young professionals and artists to study, conduct research or teach their native languages.

Faculty Members, Professors and Scholars: The Fulbright Scholar Program offers a number of year- or semester-long research and teaching grants for college and university faculty members at all career stages.  Short term consulting grants are also available to U.S. faculty.

Teachers:  The Fulbright Program offers numerous grants for teachers, with an emphasis on primary and secondary school classroom teachers and early-career English and foreign language teachers.

Artists, Writers and Musicians:  The Fulbright Program is committed to providing opportunities for American and foreign artists, writers, poets, filmmakers, and musicians to showcase their creativity.  A large number of Fulbright grants are offered to applicants in the performing, creative and visual arts each year.

Professionals: The Fulbright program offers many opportunities for professionals, including writers, journalists, architects and those in law and business.  Academic affiliations are not required.

Scientists and Engineers:  A number of programs and grants are available to applicants in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.

Host Institutions and Higher Education Administrators:
Hosting Fulbright students, scholars and teachers is a great opportunity to internationalize a campus and create lasting bonds between individuals and institutions worldwide. The Fulbright Program also offers a Fulbright grant specifically designed for U.S. college and university administrators.
