Professional Fellows Division

  • Professional Fellows Division

The Professional Fellows Division provides grants to U.S. non-profit organizations to conduct two-way exchange programs that provide substantive professional development and support to emerging leaders from the U.S. and foreign countries. The purpose of each exchange program is to engage with foreign leaders in critical professions, to demonstrate respect for foreign cultures and to promote mutual understanding between the people of the United States and other countries.

Professional exchanges typically include fellowships, study tours, internships or workshops in the United States for foreign participants, as well as similar programs for American participants overseas. Participants come from a variety of professional backgrounds including civil society, local government, education, journalism and the law.

Each year, ECA holds an open grants competition to solicit program proposals from eligible organizations. For additional information about ECA grant opportunities, check out the Open Funding Opportunities or Grants.gov.
