AMBASSADORS FUND FOR CULTURAL PRESERVATION

> Ambassadors Fund for Cultural
Preservation
Program Information
The Ambassador's Fund for Cultural Preservation is the only program in
the U.S. government that provides direct small grant support to heritage
preservation in less developed countries. In creating the fund, Congress
noted, "in efforts to assist in preserving the heritage of other
cultures, we show our respect for them."
Congress specified that Ambassadors from eligible countries
may submit proposals for consideration. Projects are brought to
the attention of the U.S. Ambassadors in different ways. Often
the project is a partnership between the U.S. Embassy and the
country's Ministry of Culture or local non-profit organization.
It is the Embassy's Public Affairs Section that oversees the implementation
of the project. Organizations wishing to suggest projects for
consideration may contact the Public Affairs Section at the American
Embassy in the eligible countries.
