| Made of gold or silver. Generally flat with animal, bird, or geometric designs. Average size is 35 cm. length x 45 cm. width. Formative Cultures - Inca. These pieces were used by priests during the height of development in the Tiwanaku culture. The designs include flora, animal and bird elements as well as geometric symbols. Many of these objects have been recovered associated with funeral equipment inferring use by the deceased. These diadems were usually made of gold with repousse and semi-precious stones. | |
