Wooden staff made of palm wood and encased in silver with semi-precious stones. Size varies from 45-120 cm.

This example of a scepter is made of palm (chonta) wood with a circular cross section. The scepter is cast in silver and is decorated with semi-precious stones and old coins. It symbolizes the authority of whomever is elected by the community.
