| Includes depictions of patron saints (santos/santas), angels, Christ, the Virgin Mary, the apostles, and the Holy Family on wood, metal, canvas (lienzo), and other cloth. With or without frame. The archangel is a central theme. Oil painting is found on objects as small as reliquaries (3 cm.), mid-sized canvas (one square meter), or wall-sized renditions. This is a group of oil paintings, tempera or mixed paintings on canvas and less iron wood or metal. Their dimensions vary from 30 x 25 cm. to 3 x 3.50 meters. They were produced during the XVI-XVII and XVIII centuries during the colonial era in Bolivia.
