Description of Designated List Category Subject to Import Restrictions

 

The Piartal-Tuza pottery is characterized by having red, orange and/or black on brown paint decoration with many stylized representations of fauna, anthropomorphous figures or geometric designs.

Example: Globular vessels, short-necked, everted border, wide-mouthed (Height: 15 cm., Diameter: 17 cm.); the globular, keel-shaped or lentil-shaped vessels are very short-necked, and have a slightly everted or straight border. (Height: 7 cm., Diameter: 10 cm.) These Vessels also come with tripod-shaped support, or low ring-shaped support, sometimes with a flange in the center of the vessel.
