Body armor including helmets, cuirasses, shin guards, shields, and horse armor often decorated with elaborate engraved, embossed or perforated designs. Elaborate horse armor is also produced during the same period. Both launching weapons (spears and javelins) and weapons for hand to hand combat (swords, daggers, etc.) Approximate date: 8th c. B.C. to 4th c. A.D.

This example is a cast, riveted bronze helmet. the moving parts are attached with a hinge.
