Educational Seminars

The Educational Seminars provide U.S. and international elementary and secondary school teachers and school administrators with opportunities to improve their understanding of U.S. and international educational practices and approaches. The three-to-eight-week long seminars are offered in Argentina, Brazil, Greece, India, Italy, Thailand and Uruguay.

Eligibility Requirements
All U.S. applicants must be:

  • A U.S. citizen;
  • Full-time K-12 educators with five or more years of classroom experience in English, English as a Second Language (ESL), Latin, Greek or the Classics, science, mathematics, or bi-lingual English/Spanish education. Please consult individual Educational Seminar program details for specific requirements for each country program.

Application Deadlines
Applications are open to U.S. participants for Educational Seminars in the following countries:

  • Argentina—Deadline: March 30, 2012
  • Brazil—Deadline: March 30, 2012
  • Greece—Deadline: January 6, 2012
  • India—Deadline: January 6, 2012
  • Italy—Deadline: January 6, 2012
  • Thailand—Deadline: March 30, 2012

For more information on deadlines, please visit the website of the American Councils for International Education, which administers the program.

International applicants from Argentina and Uruguay should contact their country's Fulbright Commission for more information.  Brazil participants are selected by the National Council of State Secretaries of Education (CONSED).  No other countries are sending participants for Educational Seminars at this time.
