Study abroad advisers in Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, New Zealand, and Ukraine will attend the three-day conference to be held at the Fulbright Commission's U.S. Education Center in Seoul. The conference will highlight the fundamental shift in advising in recent years to electronic means and will discuss the various roles of technology, websites and the Internet in advising centers. It is particularly appropriate that this conference be held in Korea, the country with the greatest broadband penetration rate in the world. The conference will bring together specialists from around the region to promote networking among U.S.-State Department-supported advising centers, to discuss the specific technologies and methodologies that can be used to continue to promote American education, and to implement procedures whereby technology can be used in each country of the region to "secure the future through educational and cultural exchanges."
