Survival Strategies for Going Abroad: A Guide for People with Disabilities

In tribute to the International Day of Disabled Persons, December 3, the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the U.S Department of State is pleased to announce its sponsorship of a new book promoting international opportunities for people with disabilities titled “Survival Strategies for Going Abroad: A Guide for People with Disabilities.” Published by National Clearinghouse on Disability and Exchange (NCDE), an ECA-sponsored project of Mobility International USA, the book focuses on international academic, professional, cultural, volunteer and short- and long-term exchange and work opportunities for the diverse disability audience. Included are tips and stories from twenty individuals with disabilities who have ventured abroad, as well as information on pursuing international programs and activities. This book and the NCDE project demonstrate the Bureau’s strong commitment to promoting the value of international exchange for everyone.
