Assistant Secretary Powell speaking at the luncheon for the Italian Vice Premier Francesco Rutelli

Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs, Dina Habib Powell, hosted a luncheon at the U.S. Department of State on Monday, November 27 for Francesco Rutelli, Italian Vice Premier and Minister of Culture. The lunch was attended by members of the public and private cultural community, including the Chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities, Bruce Cole, and Anita McBride, Assistant to the President and Chief of Staff to the First Lady. They discussed U.S.-Italian educational and cultural partnerships including the newly launched Global Culture Initiative.
