Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Under Secretary
of State Karen P. Hughes and Assistant Secretary of State Dina
Habib Powell to Address the Private Sector Summit on Public Diplomacy
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Under Secretary of State
for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs Karen P. Hughes and Assistant
Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Dina H.
Powell will deliver remarks at the Private Sector Summit on Public
Diplomacy on January 10, 2007 in the State Department’s
Benjamin Franklin Room. Under Secretary Hughes and Assistant Secretary
Powell will deliver remarks at 12:45 p.m. Secretary of State Rice
will deliver remarks at 1:30 p.m.
The Private Sector Summit at the Department of State will bring
together 150 top public relations professionals in the United
States and State Department leadership to identify clear action
steps the private sector can take to support U.S. public diplomacy.
The Summit is being co-sponsored by the U.S. Department of State
and the Public Relations Coalition. The Public Relations Coalition,
chaired by James E. Murphy, is an organization representing about
twenty U. S. based professional organizations with over 50,000
members engaged in public relations, public affairs and related
fields.
Pre-set time for cameras: 11:00 a.m. from the
23rd Street Entrance (note: all cameras wishing to cover either
Under Secretary Hughes or Secretary Rice must be set up at 11:00
a.m.)
Final access time for Under Secretary of State Hughes’
remarks: 11:45 a.m. from the 23rd Street Entrance
Final Access time for Secretary of State Rice’s
remarks: 1:00 p.m. from the 23rd Street Entrance
