Four American teenagers and a teacher from Delaware, who will participate in ECA's first youth exchange to Bosnia and Herzegovina September 23-October 7, reveled in the afternoon session with Ambassador-designee Charles English. Ambassador English talked about his upcoming assignment, which will start in early October, his goals as Ambassador, and the issues that face Bosnia. The students appreciated his respectful and accessible style in speaking with them. The group also had meetings with staff of the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations and the senior officials at the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina about their soon-to-be host country.

The Youth Programs Division works with the University of Delaware (UD) for the implementation of the Youth Leadership Program with Bosnia and Herzegovina. UD administers the U.S. exchange program activities for 15 high school students and 3 educators from Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as a return exchange of U.S. students, in partnership with the Office of Public Affairs of the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo. The Bosnian students traveled to the U.S. for four weeks in April 2007 to focus on leadership development, civic education, and citizen participation.
