How to Become a GAPP School
Interested schools must fill out the “Application for a School Partnership,” in which teachers are asked to describe their school. The program administrators, GAPP, Inc. and Padagodischer Austausch Dienst, select and match schools that will make good partners. Once a U.S./German school partnership is established, the partner schools organize the exchange. Each partner school must submit, annually, a grant application questionnaire to secure support funds for their exchange.
Important Deadlines for 2013 Exchange Projects
If you are an American teacher planning to take a group to Germany in 2013, you need to complete a grant application questionnaire, which must be submitted by November 12, 2012. By completing the questionnaire, you automatically apply for a grant application package. For both U.S. and German schools, the final grant application is due April 5, 2013. Grants are distributed on a first come, first serve basis and only for as long as funds are available.
