Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs Exchange Programs

1. International Leaders in Education Program

   The International Leaders in Education Program (ILEP) brings outstanding secondary school teachers of English, math, science and social studies from the Near East, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Western Hemisphere to the United States to further develop expertise in their subject areas, enhance their teaching skills and increase their knowledge about the United States. ILEP teachers participate in a five-month academic program at U.S. university graduate schools of education.

2. Community College Initiative Program

   The Community College Initiative (CCI) Program provides a quality academic program at U.S. community colleges intended to build technical skills, enhance leadership capabilities, and strengthen English language proficiency.

3. Study of the U.S. Institutes

   The Study of the U.S. Institutes promote a better understanding of the people, institutions, and culture of the United States among foreign students, teachers, and scholars. Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI) are short-term academic programs for groups of undergraduate leaders, educators, and scholars from around the world.

4. Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGrad)

   The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGrad) provides one semester and academic year scholarships to outstanding undergraduate students from East Asia, Eurasia and Central Asia, the Near East and South Asia and the Western Hemisphere.

5. Study of the U.S. Institutes for Student Leaders

   Study of the United States Institutes for Student Leaders are five-to-six-week academic programs for foreign undergraduate leaders.
