   My mother was telling me stories about her exchange year since I was 11 years old. She encouraged me to come to the United States.

   Yerasyl Toleugazimov, a citizen of Kazakhstan, spent his junior year of high school in Lacey and summarized his experience saying, "I learned new things that changed me."

   Binazir and her host family are very active in the community. Binazir has been described as a "volunteering fanatic."

   Really to be an exchange student here is not only to have fun – you should learn something. Traveling is really fun but there are a lot more important things that you should dig out about America.
