Working with the U.S. Embassy in Rabat, the U.S. State Department dispatched two former U.S. Women’s National Team players and one former coach to Morocco for a sports envoy program.

Partnering with the WNBA and NBA, the U.S. State Department invited two former professional basketball players, Edna Campbell and Bo Outlaw, to work with young athletes in the Republic of the Congo.

As part of the “Empowering Women and Girls Through Sports Initiative,” the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team took to the soccer field with Japanese girls in Sendai, Japan on March 27.

Sports Envoys Sam Perkins and Dikembe Mutombo traveled to South Sudan in October 2011 to lead a series of basketball clinics and teambuilding exercises with young people ages 12-25.
