TechWomen empowers the next generation of women leaders in the technology field by bringing together women in Northern California with their counterparts in the Middle East and North Africa for a professional mentorship and exchange program at leading technology companies.

 OneBeat
OneBeatSM encourages cross-cultural understanding by illustrating ways music can be used to foster positive community engagement. The music exchange will invite more than 50 young professional musicians and advanced students (ages 19-35) from around the world to the U.S. to create and perform innovative work with their American counterparts.

Programs for Secondary Students


American Serbia and Montenegro Youth Leadership Exchange (A-SMYLE)
High school students from Serbia and Montenegro spend one academic year in the United States, living with American host families and attending high school.

Carnegie Hall Musical Exchange
The Carnegie Hall Musical Exchange program connects musicians and young artists from the United States, India, Indonesia and Mexico. 

Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Program
The Congress–Bundestag Youth Exchange Program (CBYX) offers German and American students a fully-funded academic year abroad. Participating students develop critical intercultural skills while learning what it's like to live and attend school in Germany.

Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) Program
The Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) Program gives students (ages 15-17) the chance to live with a host family and attend a U.S. high school for a year

German American Partnership Program (GAPP)
The German American Partnership Program supports partnerships and exchanges between high schools in the U.S. and schools in Germany.

Global Connections and Exchange (GCE)
The Youth Programs Division has initiated the Global Connections and Exchange Program for secondary school Internet connectivity and curriculum development. Teachers receive specialized training on computer applications, web development and the use of the Internet to enhance their daily lessons.

Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program
The Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program provides scholarships to high school students from countries with significant Muslim populations to spend up to one academic year in the United States. During the program, YES students live with American host families and are enrolled in accredited U.S. high schools.

Youth Leadership Programs (YLP)
Youth Leadership Programs foster mutual understanding, respect, and civic engagement among young Americans and their international peers. Exchanges are three to four weeks in duration and involve youth ages 15-18, and adults who work with youth.

The American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYPL)organizes and manages unique international educational exchanges for young political leaders (ages 25-40) worldwide.

The American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYPL)organizes and manages unique international educational exchanges for young political leaders (ages 25-40) worldwide.

Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (UGRAD)
The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (also known as the Global UGRAD Program) provides one semester and academic year scholarships to outstanding undergraduate students from underrepresented sectors in East Asia, Eurasia and Central Asia, the Near East and South Asia and the Western Hemisphere for non-degree full-time study combined with community service, internships and cultural enrichment.

Study of the United States Institutes for Student Leaders
The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (also known as the Global UGRAD Program) provides one semester and academic year scholarships to outstanding undergraduate students from underrepresented sectors in East Asia, Eurasia and Central Asia, the Near East and South Asia and the Western Hemisphere for non-degree full-time study combined with community service, internships and cultural enrichment.

The Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship Program provides fellowships for Master’s degree-level study to emerging leaders from Eurasia for study in the United States in selected fields.

Fulbright Foreign Student Programs
The Fulbright Foreign Student Program offers fellowships for graduating college seniors, graduate students, young professionals and artists to study, conduct research or teach their native languages.

International Fulbright Science and Technology Awards
Fulbright S&T is designed to be the most prestigious international scholarship in science and technology and to demonstrate the United States' commitment to welcoming top-notch future researchers and leaders to pursue serious scientific study and research at U.S. institutions.

Community Solutions
The Community Solutions Program is a professional development program for the best and brightest global community leaders working in the fields of transparency and accountability, tolerance and conflict resolution, environmental issues and women’s issues.

Congress – Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX)
The Congress–Bundestag Youth Exchange Program (CBYX) offers German and American students a fully-funded academic year abroad. Participating students develop critical intercultural skills while learning what it's like to live and attend school in Germany.

E-Teacher Scholarship Program
The E-Teacher Scholarship Program offers English teaching professionals living outside of the United States the opportunity to take one of seven innovative, online graduate level classes through the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and the University of Oregon.

Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship
The Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship Program provides fellowships for Master’s degree-level study to emerging leaders from Eurasia for study in the United States in selected fields.

Fulbright Program for Scholars
The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program provides grants to approximately 850 foreign scholars from over 100 countries to conduct post-doctoral research at U.S. institutions from an academic semester to a full academic year. 

Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowships Program
Founded in 1978 in honor of the late Senator and Vice President, the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program provides 10 months of professional enrichment and non-degree graduate-level study in the United States for accomplished mid-level professionals from designated countries.

International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP)
The International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) is the U.S. Department of State’s premier professional exchange program. Launched in 1940, the IVLP is a professional exchange program that seeks to build mutual understanding between the U.S. and other nations through carefully designed short-term visits to the U.S. for current and emerging foreign leaders.

Junior Faculty Development Program
The Junior Faculty Development Program (JFDP) offers fellowships to university instructors at early stages of their careers. JFDP Fellows attend U.S. colleges and universities for one semester, where they work together with American faculty members to broaden their knowledge in their fields of study.

Legislative Fellows Program
The Legislative Fellows Program provides young professionals direct exposure to the U.S. political process. Fellows are placed in month-long internships in U.S. Congressional offices, state legislatures, city councils and local governments across the United States.
