Study of the U.S. Institutes

At-a-Glance

The Study of U.S. Institutes (SUSIs) are five-to six-week academic programs focusing on topics in U.S. studies for groups of foreign undergraduates, scholars, and teachers. Hosted by universities and colleges throughout the United States, the Institutes include an intensive academic residency, an academic field experience to another region of the United States, and opportunities for participants to engage with American peers. Institutes also include community service activities and leadership development.

Eligibility and Application Overview

Program participants are recruited and nominated by Public Affairs Sections (PAS) of U.S. Embassies and Consulates, and in some cases, Fulbright Commissions around the world.
