YSEALI Academic Fellows Program

At-a-Glance

Each year, the YSEALI Academic Fellowship brings 500 current or recently graduated students to the U.S. for five-week programs at U.S. universities and colleges.  The YSEALI Academic Fellows Program includes an academic residency, leadership development, an educational study tour, and community service activities. Programs occur in the fall and spring, with each cohort concluding in Washington, D.C.

The YSEALI Academic Fellows Program focuses on four themes:

The Civic Engagement theme provides an overview of how citizens have shaped U.S. history, government, and society as individuals and as groups.

The Natural Resources theme explores the role that natural resources, energy, and environmental policies have played in the economic and political development of the United States.

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship theme provides an overview of how the use of entrepreneurial skills can help build prosperity and address challenges in the United States.

The Society and Governance theme provides an overview of democracy and policy making in the United States, including conversations on public management practices and the rule of law.
