   The Fulbright FLTA Program provides young teachers of English as a Foreign Language the opportunity to refine their teaching skills and broaden their knowledge of American cultures and customs while strengthening the instruction of foreign languages at colleges and universities in the United States.

   Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Alumna Patricia Nzolantima returned home after her exchange and started a micro finance program to help local entrepreneurs start medical supply stores.

7. Youth Ambassadors City Cheer - Tulsa

   

   These Caribbean students lived, learned, and volunteered in Tulsa, Oklahoma for 12 days as part of the U.S. Department of State's Youth Ambassadors Program.

   During his time in the United States as a participant in the International Visitor Leadership Program, Mark Chilongu of Lusaka, Zambia was struck by the way in which Americans shared their time and resources to care for the poor.

9. Entrepreneurship, Creating Global Links

   

   The IVLP program, “Entrepreneurship as the Engine of Prosperity and Stability,” brings seven International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) groups to participate in this professional exchange which aims to promote small business development, innovation, and entrepreneurial acumen as paths to socio-economic wellbeing and political stability.

10. Infrastructure and Economic Development for Turkey

    Lokman participated in the program during his first term as mayor of Kazan, a district of Ankara, on the theme of Municipal Governance and Intergovernmental Relations in the U.S. in 2006.
