   At a reception on June 4, the U.S. Ambassador to Egypt Margaret Scobey congratulated 18 Egyptian students (and their parents) from Alexandria who will begin studying in the U.S. at various colleges and universities in the 2011-2012 academic year.

3. Young Basketball Players from the Democratic Republic of Congo Visit the U.S.

   

   The U.S. State Department welcomed a group from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) for the first Sports Visitor program of the new year.

4. Sports Visitors and the Women's NCAA Final Four

   

   Partnering with the NCAA, USA Basketball, and WNBA, the U.S. Department of State led a fast-paced and exciting basketball program surrounding the events of the Women’s NCAA Final Four.

5. Professional Fellows

   

   A group of 225 fellows from 31 countries arrived in Washington, D.C. to participate in the the Professional Fellows Congress which took place May 3-4, 2011 at the Renaissance Hotel in Arlington, Virginia.

6. Track and Field Athletes from the Caribbean Visit the U.S

   

   In partnership with USA Track and Field and the Oregon Track Club, the U.S Department of State organized a dynamic track and field program to empower women and girls.

7. Youth TechCamp

   

   The U.S. Department of State hosted the first Youth TechCamp in Washington, D.C. for 21 Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program alumni
