   Vera Kalinina, a States’ 4-H FLEX student from Russia, made a major impact on her host community and the state of Oregon through her informative presentations about Russian civil society and culture and volunteer activities.

   The German Bundestag and U.S. Department of State are pleased to announce Aswath Jaiprakash as the December Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) U.S. Participant of the Month!

4. A Road to Civic Education in Bangladesh

   After returning from the program, he transformed the focus of his organization towards youth civic education and is a dynamic advocate for the issue throughout his country.

6. A-SMYLE Student of the Month — January 2014

   Marija Srejic, a World Link student from Serbia, eagerly seeks volunteer opportunities and has found several ways to help her host community, such as volunteering twice a week with a children’s literacy program and tutoring an elementary age student.

7. Next Level

   Next Level is an exciting initiative of the Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs that uses a collaboration of current music, spoken word, dance, and film to foster cross-cultural creative expression, understanding, and conflict resolution in younger audiences in underserved communities overseas, and to support the professional development of artists in those communities.

8. FLEX Student of the Month – November 2017

   Only two months into her exchange year, World Link-placed FLEX Student, Aiganym Khamitkhanova (Kazakhstan/CO), has already received one of her high school’s highest honors, volunteered 60 service hours, and taught her French Class about Kazakh traditions, holidays and language.

9. Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program for Iraq

   The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program for Iraq brings Iraqi scholars in selected fields to U.S. institutions.
