Next Level

Using multi-disciplinary hip hop collaborations, Next Level explores and addresses conflict resolution strategies by sending up to 20 American beat makers, DJs, B-Boys/B-Girls (or experts of other types of hip hop dance), or MCs in teams of 5 artists to lead four- to six-week exchange programs in various countries. 

Participants: Outstanding performers experienced in Beat Making, DJing, B-Boying/B-Girling (or other forms of hip hop dance), or MCing at least 21 years of age.

American Music Abroad

Each year, American Music Abroad sends approximately 10 ensembles of American roots music in different genres on a month-long, multi-country tour, where they engage with international audiences through public concerts, interactive performances with local musicians, lectures and demonstrations, workshops, jam sessions, and media interviews.

Participants: Outstanding American roots music (e.g. Americana, Blues, Bluegrass, Cajun, Country, Folk, Latin, Native American, Gospel, Hip Hop/Urban, Indie Rock, Jazz, Punk, R&B, and Zydeco) ensembles made up of 3-5 members
