1. April 2024 CBYX U.S. Participant of the Month

   The German Bundestag and U.S. Department of State are pleased to announce Lucy Brumfiel as the April Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) U.S. Participant of the Month!  Lucy, a CBYX High School program participant from Norwood, CO and recruited by CIEE, is hosted by the Kögel family in Dinklage, Niedersachsen.

   Study of the United States Institutes for Student Leaders are five-to-six-week academic programs for foreign undergraduate leaders.

   After more than a decade of war ravaged the village of Freetown in Sierra Leone, the infrastructure remains in ruins and the people now live with the physical and emotional scars of a country taken by violence.

   Beatriz Recinos, an undergraduate student from El Salvador, studied oceanography and geophysics at Humboldt State University in Northern California while participating in the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program.

   Dance Diplomacy - DanceMotion USA

   

   Through the DanceMotion USA program, the US. Department of State supports a series of tours by a select number of American contemporary dance companies to increase cross-cultural understanding between the United States and countries around the world.

   Bumping Up Efforts to Empower Women and Girls Worldwide: Gulf Nations Volleyball Coaches

   

   Under the State Department’s Empowering Women and Girls through Sports Initiative, the Gulf Nations Volleyball Visitor Program brought 10 female volleyball coaches from Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, and Yemen to the U.S.

   Sports Envoys in India: Empowering Youth through Baseball and Softball

   

   The State Department’s first-ever joint baseball and softball program sent MLB Hall-of-Famer Barry Larkin and Olympian Natasha Watley to India as Sports Envoys in Febuary 2013.

   Leigh Ann Parker never thought her daughter’s friendship with a Norwegian exchange student would lead to her family hosting teenagers from seven different countries.
