1. South African Basketball Coaches Come to the U.S.

   

   From March 8 to 19, 2012, South African coaches met with U.S. sports professionals, held clinics with young American athletes at local schools, participated in an NBA clinic, and engaged in activities focused on team-building and injury prevention in the Washington, D.C., area.

   In the Year of the Olympics, Sam Perkins and Swin Cash Travel to London

   

   Partnering with the NBA and WNBA and working with the U.S. Embassy in London, U.S. State Department Envoys Sam Perkins and “Swin” Cash traveled to the United Kingdom for the 2012 Olympics.

3. Russian Volleyball Players Visit the U.S.

   

   The first sports visitor program brought Russian volleyball players and coaches to Southern California for a beach volleyball.

4. Next Level

   Next Level is an exciting initiative of the Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs that uses a collaboration of current music, spoken word, dance, and film to foster cross-cultural creative expression, understanding, and conflict resolution in younger audiences in underserved communities overseas, and to support the professional development of artists in those communities.
