  4. FLEX Student of the Month – May 2014

    Zhyldyz Omursakova, a World Learning FLEX student from Kyrgyzstan, volunteered over 120 hours of community service this year and regularly volunteered at the Liberty Senior Care Facility, spending time with the elderly residents and organizing fun events such as a Mardi Gras party.

  5. FLEX Student of the Month – December 2014

    Liza, a Future Leaders Exchange student from Russia, has clocked an impressive 100 hours of community service during her three and a half months in her host community along with participating in many clubs and activities.

  6. December American Abroad Student of the Month: Hikaru Hayakawa

    Hikaru Hayakawa, a Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study Abroad Program (YES Abroad) participant, is the U.S. Department of State’s December 2019 American Abroad Student of the Month. Hikaru graduated from Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey, and is currently a gap-year student in Skopje, North Macedonia.

    March YES Student of the Month Karine Alkhatib from Lebanon, placed by PAX in Mabel Minnesota is an A+ student at Mabel-Canton High School, and that is only the beginning of her long list of accomplishments.

    We are pleased to announce Aisuluu Oskonbaeva from Kyrgyzstan as the FLEX May Student of the Month!  She is placed by World Link and hosted in Flushing, Michigan.

  9. Reading Connects Communities in the U.S. and Macedonia

    As a Fulbrighter Jennifer lived in Macedonia from September 2011 to July 2012-- helping to teach English and American culture in a number of classes at South East European University in Tetovo, as well as developing two of her own courses. In her spare time, Jennifer started an English club, in partnership with Read Across America, at the American Corner in Tetovo for young Macedonians.

    Shubham’s most memorable experiences was spending time with students with special needs at Waterloo Junior High School.
