1. FLEX Student of the Month – April 2015

   Utilizing his leadership qualities and passion to serve others, Ion held the office of general secretary for the Key Club, volunteered for over 200 hours in his host community, and participated in the Model UN Alaska Conference.

2. Standing Together for Human Rights

   Daman helped set up the summer 2011 program for the first two delegations of Afghans participating in the ECA U.S./Afghan Professional Partnership.

3. Friends Without Borders

   Peace Corps volunteer starts a pen pal project between an elementary school in The Gambia and various classes in the States. Despite technical difficulties, she quickly saw the motivation that the pen pals project inspired in the students and teachers at her school.

   The "discreetly subversive" indie rock band from Lahore, Pakistan enjoys a beautiful day in Washington, D.C. before they kicked off their U.S. Center Stage tour with a June 3 performance at the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage.

   Fulbright Scholar Kathleen McLaughlin documents the modernization of Maramures, Romania through pictures.

   TechGirls is an international exchange program designed to empower young girls from the Middle East and North Africa with the knowledge and resources to pursue higher education and careers in technology.

8. FLEX May Student of the Month

   We are pleased to announce Milica Savkovic from Serbia as the FLEX May Student of the Month! She was placed by World Link and is hosted in Belleville, Illinois.

9. Infrastructure and Economic Development for Turkey

   Lokman participated in the program during his first term as mayor of Kazan, a district of Ankara, on the theme of Municipal Governance and Intergovernmental Relations in the U.S. in 2006.
