The U.S. State Department hosted six female and six male baseball and softball coaches from the Philippines for a Sports Visitor program. The activities were centered on Major League Baseball’s spring training in Phoenix, Arizona. The coaches had opportunities to meet players from and attend games of the Kansas City Royals, San Francisco Giants, and San Diego Padres. They also held clinics with young American athletes, participated in a Special Olympics event, and engaged in other sessions focused on youth development and social diplomacy.
