Junior Faculty Development Program

At-a-Glance

The Junior Faculty Development Program (JFDP) offers fellowships to university instructors at early stages of their careers. JFDP Fellows attend U.S. colleges and universities for one semester, where they work together with American faculty members to broaden their knowledge in their fields of study. Fellows acquire an understanding of the U.S. educational system and develop collaborative projects that link their home and host institutions.

Eligibility and Application Overview

Candidates from Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan may apply to participate in the program.

To qualify for a JFDP Fellowship, an applicant must: 

  • hold a university degree
  • be currently teaching at an institution of higher education
  • have at least two years of teaching experience at an institution of higher education
  • have a mastery of the English language
