Jennet, an ASSE-placed Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) student from Turkmenistan, has won over her entire community and school with her enthusiasm, hard work and dedication. Jennet is a people person; she wants to know everything about everyone. She is currently active with bell choir, basketball, and Science Olympiad. She is a high honor roll student and was chosen as “student of the first quarter” by the Social Studies Department and “student of the second quarter” by the Physical Education Department.

Jennet’s school has been ecstatic about her performance and all that she has added to their school. Her guidance counselor states, “Jennet’s positive influence has reached beyond the classroom at our school. Jennet consistently is polite, respectful, and well-liked by all of her teachers and peers, as she takes time and shows genuine interest in other. We cannot speak highly enough of the intangible things that Jennet has brought to our school, and she will be missed when she leaves us.”

Jennet is an enthusiastic volunteer. She has worked more than 83 community service hours toward her goal to serve over 100 hours.  She assisted at church bingo, the YMCA book sale, and Literary Arts Center bookstore. One of her favorite community service opportunities was Special Olympics bowling, and she said, “My FLEX goal is to share love and help others. As an exchange student from Turkmenistan, I share with these awesome teenagers my love and help. Encouraging them at their game helped our team to take home awards. Volunteering is to help, to learn and to meet new people. Thank you very much ASSE and the FLEX program for such opportunities.”
