We are pleased to announce Eldar Musayev from Lithuania as the March FLEX Student of the Month!
Eldar was selected as his host high school’s Student of the Month for his outstanding grades, his demonstrated leadership, and his kindness toward others. He was listed on the Superior Honor Roll for his 4.0 GPA. Eldar’s participation in band earned him four recognition awards and a nomination for best pianist. He is also excelling in FFA with a list of competition wins. He has already earned the US Department of State Volunteer Service award with 146 hours of community service!Eldar’s community service started at the county fair, where he volunteered at the FFA concession stand, and he was a key volunteer in set up and take down for “Lake of Lights,” a popular Christmas lights drive-thru raising money for local organizations. His love for sports led him to serve as a game official for junior high football games and as an assistant coach at a youth basketball event. Eldar hopes to work in the medical field, so he sought out a wonderful opportunity to volunteer with the BKP Ambulance District. Eldar also volunteers at FFA community events, including the “Christmas in Mt. Victory” party, where he helped children paint Santa and Mr. Grinch. He also volunteered as a banquet assistant during the FFA Senior Citizen’s Luncheon. One of his favorite activities was being a group leader for 4th graders for the FFA “Farm to Fork” Activity Day. Eldar took first place in the FFA District Job Interview, scoring a perfect 800/800, beating out more than 100 students. His outstanding performance secured him second place at the state level in this category, while also achieving fourth place in Parliamentary Procedure, another category in which he ranked first at the sub-district level. Aside from competing, Eldar has been a judge at competitions. Currently, he is preparing for the State AgriScience Fair. He stated, “I joined FFA because I wanted to improve my communication skills, agricultural knowledge, and leadership abilities. It has helped me to see the world from a different side… to try new things I would never try in my country.” This inspiration led Eldar to join many extracurricular activities at school.
In addition to FFA activities, Eldar played on the football team and on both the varsity and JV basketball teams. Recently, he joined indoor track. He is a member of the symphonic, jazz, and marching bands. On top of all those activities, Eldar is in the school musical and also on the Quiz Bowl team.
