October 2021 FLEX Student of the Month!

We are pleased to announce Aniela Kuzawinska from Poland as the FLEX October Student of the Month!  She is placed by World Link and hosted in Dunlap, CA.

Aniela has completed 28 hours of community service since her arrival and has put her farming skills to good use.  She helped the local Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter get ready for the pre-fair show; then during the Tulare County Fair, she ran the registration table for the livestock auction for both FFA and 4-H Club.  Aniela’s green thumb has been met with two thumbs up!

When not nurturing crops, Aniela has helped nurture her community as well. She prepared and served food at the local church’s Family Day event, assisted the Dinuba Fire Department with their paperwork, and helped a teacher after school with their tasks.  Aniela joined other exchange students in her area in serving chowder and selling t-shirts at the Kingsburg Crayfish Festival.  She even spent an evening setting up, seating guests, serving dessert, and cleaning up for a show at the non-profit Reedley Opera House.

Aniela has immediately jumped at the chance to share her culture with her host community, expanding Americans’ understanding of the world.  She presented to youth attending a local church’s “Girls’ Night” about not only Poland, but also why it’s a good thing to be different.

Excited to be at an American high school, Aniela maintains straight A’s and has been quick to make friends.  She is eager to engage in school activities as soon as she can and looks forward to exploring her school’s extracurricular offerings.  Aniela is highly motivated to do well during her exchange year and make the most of the opportunity.  Her host mom describes Aniela as “so sweet, helpful, and patient, especially when it comes to her young siblings.”  She says, “They are having a blast hosting her!”

Congratulations, Aniela!
