3. Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange & Study (YES) Abroad

   American high school students in YES Abroad program spend one academic semester or year living with a host family and attending high school abroad.

4. Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) Abroad

   The new FLEX Abroad program provides merit-based scholarships for eligible high school students to attend a local school in Kazakhstan, Poland, or Ukraine for an academic year.

5. Featured Virtual Fellow Cecilia Jerez promotes Cultural Exchange Online in Venezuela

   Cecilia Jerez is a 2021 Virtual Fellow in Venezuela, where she has collaborated with the local embassy and American Spaces to host online lessons and events for the English Access Microscholarship Program.

7. Next Level

   Next Level is an exciting initiative of the Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs that uses a collaboration of current music, spoken word, dance, and film to foster cross-cultural creative expression, understanding, and conflict resolution in younger audiences in underserved communities overseas, and to support the professional development of artists in those communities.

Ida, a CBYX High School program participant from Besigheim, Germany, lives with the Farley family in Buena Vista, Virginia after being placed by CIEE.
