In October Tatia had the opportunity to shadow her host city’s mayor. On the very first day she observed the start of a major environmental project and one of the mayor’s press conferences. Tatia said she learned that to be successful, you have to be communicative and active.
Tatia is extremely active in her host family and community. She said, “I always try to help my host family; several weeks ago I had an occasion to help them pick vegetables from the family garden. It was awesome, a great American experience.” Over the winter holidays Tatia and her host mom volunteered together to lend a hand to the Salvation Army’s ‘Angel Tree’ program. Tatia has also completed over 65 community service hours at the Boys and Girls Club’s Good News Project where she monitors children's activities and offers tutoring. Tatia’s host mom says that Tatia always has a smile on her face; she is very giving and loves to interact with people and talk to them about Georgia.
Congratulations, Tatia!
