Nadica Popovic, an American Councils student from Serbia, makes a positive impression on everyone who meets her. She enjoys answering questions about Serbia and learning about American culture. Nadica receives excellent grades in school and loves volunteering and helping her host community. So far, she has completed over 50 hours of community service. She has volunteered with a wide variety of community organizations and participated in several events: the Color Run Scholarship Fund fundraiser, Light the Night Walk for leukemia and lymphoma, Out of Darkness Walk for suicide awareness; and she helps out at a local food shelter for the homeless.
Nadica has a great sense of school spirit, during football season she helped with decorations for the Homecoming Dance and “Game Day Experience” (games for children before football games). Nadica is also an excellent cook; one of her favorite Serbian recipes was selected to be featured in an annual recipe calendar. Nadica’s host family and friends say, “Nadica has developed both as a student and as a person.”… “She is a mature and caring young woman who is a joy to host.”
Congratulations, Nadica!
