FLEX Student of the Month – September 2014

Elizaveta, a PAX Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) program student from Russia, has a passion for photojournalism. She tries to capture every moment with her camera and has started a blog to share the photos with friends and family in the U.S. and Russia. She uses every opportunity to educate her host community about her home country and is making a video about Russia to show in school. Elizaveta has also received an offer to contribute to a local host community newspaper.

Elizaveta is open-minded and enthusiastic. She excels in her schoolwork and even the enormous amount of homework she has to complete does not stop her from participating in other activities. Elizaveta has joined the Student Government Club; where students participate in a model House of Representatives, Senate, and Supreme Court; she has volunteered to serve food at the Bootiful Wimberley Auction, a project of the Wimberley Valley Arts & Cultural Alliance; helped with preparations for a gala that celebrated a new public art project; and she spends many hours rehearsing for a holiday season theatrical production for local children.

Elizaveta’s motto is, “Be open and polite you’ll not only have fun, but can also help each other.”

Congratulations, Elizaveta!
