Filip, an American Councils student from Serbia, is involved in several school and community activities.  He has completed 50 hours of community service, is a member of the All-County and State choruses, is preparing for the 26th Anniversary of “We the People” State Finals, plays percussion instruments in the school band, and plays the accordion.

To celebrate International Education Week, Filip gave presentations that incorporated cultural exchange through all five senses. Filip presented history and facts about Serbia, played traditional Serbian music on the accordion, taught “kolo” dancing to his classmates, and served palacinke, Serbian pancakes! For his efforts, Filip was chosen as one of the winners for “Best IEW Non-PowerPoint Presentation.” Filip has also been selected to participate in the 2012 Workshop for Youth Leaders in Teaching of English.

Congratulations, Filip!
