Milos Djordjevic is an outgoing, social American Council student who turns every contact he makes into an opportunity to learn. As a student ambassador for Serbia, Milos attended the Iowa Hunger Summit to discuss world hunger. During the conference he met the Governor of Iowa and was given a personal invitation to meet again to discuss Serbian culture.
Milos enjoys the diversity of American culture. He visited the Hindu Temple & Cultural Center of Iowa and attended the Des Moines Latino Festival, where he enjoyed watching traditional Hispanic dancers and eating ethnic foods. However, Milos was more than just a spectator of community activities; he was actively involved by helping older neighbors with yard work and computer problems. He also volunteered at the Caring Hands Food Pantry twice a week.
Many admire the positive attitude and optimistic outlook Milos has on life. He is a straight “A” student with an outstanding work ethic, and often takes advantage of extra credit opportunities. Milos is a member of the Key Club and hopes to make the soccer team in the spring. He is also working on a photo journal to document his year as an A-SMYLE program participant.
Congratulations, Milos!
