   Brazil and Basketball: Athletes from Sao Paulo

   

   ECA hosted 14 teenage athletes—seven boys and seven girls—and two coaches from Brazil in the U.S. for a basketball exchange from February 6 to 18, 2013.

5. Overcoming the Fear of Public Speaking: Exchange Builds Confidence

   Prior to the academic year Aaron spent in Russia as a National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) participant, he had only given a few speeches to an audience – in English. A native of Portland, ME, Aaron never imagined that during his year abroad he would speak in Russian to an audience of World War II veterans.

   The "discreetly subversive" indie rock band from Lahore, Pakistan enjoys a beautiful day in Washington, D.C. before they kicked off their U.S. Center Stage tour with a June 3 performance at the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage.

   Adam Wickham, a National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) participant is the U.S. Department of State’s January 2018 American Abroad Student of the Month.
