English Language Specialist Program

Travel and Living Arrangements

English Language Specialists receive international airfare; an honorarium between $135-$250 (depending on the project) a day for all working and program-related travel days; enrollment in health benefit plan; food, lodging, and local transport while in the host country; and an entrance visa where necessary. Additional benefits may include preparation days; allowance for books and materials; allowance for miscellaneous expenses; and final program report fees. Business class travel is not provided, but the program pays for a 24-hr. overnight en route or day of rest upon arrival if travel exceeds 14 hours flight time in either direction.
